The management of the Upper West Regional branch of Zoomlion Ghana limited has organized a training workshop for Team Leaders on standard sanitation practices.

The Team Leaders numbering 120 under the Waste and Sanitation Module of the Youth Employment Programme (YEA) were selected across the region to benefit from the training.

The objectives of the training were to equip team leaders with basic team leadership skills to manage their teams, brief Team Leaders on their roles in the YEA programme, and explain basic safety, health and hygiene measures that must be observed in their day to day activities.

The raining also intended to equip Team Leaders with basic saving and financial management skills.

In his welcome address, the Upper West Regional General Manager of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Emmanuel Volsuuri, implore participants to take the training seriously since it will equip them the necessary skills to execute their work professionally.

Mr. Volsuuri indicated that the training was necessary to bring Team Leaders up to speed on the changes following the review of the Waste and Sanitation Model.

The training, which was facilitated by experience environmental sanitation professionals, covered subject areas such as basic solid waste management practices, basic health, safety and hygiene practices, basic management and supervisory skills, time management, roles and scope of work of Team Leaders.

Facilitators also took the participants through basic financial management skills to enable beneficiaries to cultivate the habit of saving to invest in additional income-generating activities after close of work.
