Former President John Dramani Mahama has eulogized the late Prof. Evan Atta Mills on his birthday which falls today, July 21.

Prof. Atta Mills would have been 76 years today if he was alive.

Recalling some of the fond memories he has of his late friend, John Mahama took to his social media handle to pen an emotional birthday message to the late President of Ghana who died eight years ago.

Paying homage to the late President who was preferably called Asomdwehene, Mahama said “You would have been 76 years today, Prof. Though in eternity, memories of your sterling qualities and principled leadership are still fresh with us.”

According to Mahama, Prof. Atta Mills will forever remain in his and the NDC’s heart as he is a soul that will never ben forgotten because of the influence he had on them.

“You will forever remain in our hearts. Yours is a soul that cannot be forgotten, a man we cannot celebrate enough! Happy birthday my comrade, mentor and friend. Continue to rest well, Sir,” he said while paying tribute to the late President.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has indicated plans to commemorate the eight anniversary of the death of Prof. Atta Mills on Friday, July 24.

A wreath-laying ceremony will be held at Asomdwee Park, near the Osu Castle in Accra at 8am.
