One goal was enough for Ghana’s Under-23 team, Black Meteors to cement their place at the next edition of the U-23 African Cup of Nations, ABC News can report.
The Black Meteors needed nothing but a win in Algiers to confirm their place in the competition after playing a one all draw game in Accra last week Friday.
The tournament to be hosted by Egypt is expected to take place from November 8-22, 2019 with the top three teams; winner, runner-up and bronze medalists representing Africa at the 2020 Olympic Men’s Football World Cup in Tokyo, Japan.
The Ghana side last appeared at the tournament some 15 years ago, at Athens, Greece in 2004.
The 2-1 aggregate victory over the young foxes was made possible by a Yaw Yeboah strike in the 70th minute after a superb solo run.
The victory sent everyone in camp into ecstasy.
