Movie Producer, Ola Micheal has called for emotional and psychological support for Ghanaian actor and comedian, Benson Nana Oduro Boateng, popularly known in showbiz as Funny Face as he battles depression.

The entertainment pundit said there is enough evidence to buttress his assertion that the comedian is going through depression and anxiety and therefore Ghanaians should not joke with Funny Face’s social media “rant” about happenings in his private life.

Speaking on Accra-based Peace FM’s entertainment show, Ola Micheal cited a couple of studies and a report by BBC to drive home his argument that comedians are the type of persons who are very prone to depression and therefore patrons of the craft of Funny Face should not consider his present condition as entertaining.

He added that he will be very disappointed if professional counsellors and psychologists fail to recognize the depression he is going through and offer him help.

“Funny Face is a comedian. I believe the young man is going through some sort of depression and anxiety. You can choose to joke with it, that is your problem. But listen to the guy, what he said that alarmed was when he said “the voice that told me to go and apologize to my ex-wife is the same voice that the told me to come out and respond,” the movie producer intimated.

With this, he concluded that “there is a problem. Which voice is talking to him? It means he hears voices in his head. It is a psychological issue. I will be very surprised if any psychologist or counsellor says it is not a psychological issue. Pay attention to details.”

Funny Face claimed in one of his recent videos that his wife has run away from home taking with their kids, lamenting that her attitude is worse than his first wife who had children with other men but presented them as his.

In an Instagram post, he blamed his colleague Lil Win for his wife’s decision adding that he (Lil Win) got to her because she is not emotionally strong.

“Aswear tomorrow am going full attaaaaaack on LIL WIN  … Because the mother of my children is not emotionally strong… you have tricked her into doing dis to me Kwadwo…? … Aswear KWADWO… I WILL DIE WITH YOU IN GHANA,” he wrote.
