The United States Ambassador to Ghana, Stephanie Sullivan has joined a campaign by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to reignite the passion of football in Ghanaians.
The GFA in October last year announced plans to launch the campaign hash-tagged #BringBackTheLove to restore the love and galvanising support, especially for the Black Stars after they suffered a disappointing defeat at the 2019 African Cup of Nations (Afcon).
In a Twitter post by the embassy on Saturday, the Ambassador could be seen wearing a yellow jersey with red and yellow designs at the shoulders, a star on the chest and her name customized at the back, with the caption: “Bring back the love! Which team in the Ghana Premier League needs a prolific striker?

The GFA President on assumption of office indicated that he, together with his Executives will support the National team to win back the love for Ghana football which appear to have been lost following the seeming lack of interest in the sport for some years now, ABC News can report.
Many Ghanaians, especially football people in reaction to the Ambassador’s picture have said the move places value on the need to restore the love for football in the country.
