Two members of the travelling entourage of Diego Simeone’s side have tested positive for Coronavirus.
The latest development has cast doubts over the Quarter Final tie between the Spanish side and their German opponents, RB Leipzig in Portugal.
The identities of the two players have not been disclosed with authorities scheduling a new round of testing on the whole team – staff and players – and persons they may have come into contact with.
UEFA is yet to issue a directive on whether the match scheduled to take place on Thursday will be played.
According to Goal, all players have been isolated and observing strictly all protocols.
