Tokyo 2020 Olympics: Joseph Paul Amoah seals semi-final berth in men’s 200m

Ghanaian sprinter, Joseph Paul Amoah, has book qualification for the semi-finals of the men’s 200m at the ongoing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Amoah finished 3rd in heat 7 in a time of 20.35 seconds of the half-lap event on Tuesday morning.

He has secured automatic qualification alongside Noah Lyles of United States and Eswatini’s Sibusiso Matsenjwa who both finished 1st and 2nd respectively.

The Ghanaian will aim to reach the finals and hope to secure Ghana’s first-ever appearance in the final of the 200m event at any Olympic Games later on Tuesday at 11:50GMT.
