A special Federal Prosecutor, Dr. iur. Stefan Keller has applied to the Swiss Parliament to grant authority to begin criminal proceedings against FIFA boss Gianni Infantino, Swiss Attorney-General Michael Lauber and Chief Special Prosecutor of the Upper Valias, Rinaldo Arnold.

The FIFA boss faces charges over his dealings with Swiss Attorney-General, authorities announced on Thursday.

Swiss prosecutors have previously found indications of criminal conduct related to the meetings between the two men.

It was alleged that Michael Lauber had had a secret meeting with FIFA boss and produced false result to his supervisor while investigating a corruption case at the world football body.

However, Infantino and Lauber denied of any wrongdoing as alleged.

Meanwhile, Lauber is set to vacate his job after he decided to resign.

Infantino took office as the FIFA boss in 2016 following the resignation of the Sepp Blatter after allegations of corruption against him.

Since Infantino took office, some of his team members have been tried and sanctioned for corruption in some countries, particularly the USA.

He has expressed his readiness to cooperate with investigators of the corruption allegations against him.
