Sub-urban & sky trains not feasible in Ghana; mere “beer bar” talk – Sefa Kayi

Must Read

Ace broadcaster, Kwame Sefa Kayi has opined that the much touted sub-urban and sky trains by government is not feasible in the country.

According to the host of Accra-based Peace FM’s Kokrokoo host, the idea is impracticable considering how poor the country has planned its settlements and its transportation networks.

Based on these reasons, the broadcaster says government officials and party communicators who continue to propagate the promise of government constructing sub-urban and and sky trains in Ghana are just engaging in what he describes as “stupid talks.”

“It won’t happen so stop mentioning. It’s like you said earlier that to are going to construct skytrains. Excuse me to say, its one of the stupid talks.  It’s just a beer bar talk.  Sub urban train is one of them. Where will you station the train. No, its not possible. Let’s say something practical,” Sefa Kayi explained.

He therefore recommended that the government reconsider its position on Okada in order to deal with the traffic situation in the country.

To him, considering the number of people who patronize okada, banning the business is not the best option but recommended that the government should regularize the business as its done in Paul Kagame’s Rwanda.

He noted that, “look, Rwanda, they have manage to regularize Okada. As chairman of the committee, why don’t you consider the number of people who patronize it (Okada). It will be a huge problem if banned so let’s regulate them. So we can’t do this?”
