The National Democratic Congress’ Chairman of the Volta Regional Council of Elders, Mr Dan Abodakpi has slammed the New Patriotic Party for showing “fake love” to indigenes of the Volta Region.

At a press briefing on Monday, the NPP Regional Chairman, Makafui Woanya , accused the NDC of employing tribal sentiments to gain support from the Volta Region.

“It’s their strategy for soliciting funds and undeserved sympathy, whipping up tribal sentiments and emotions of Voltarians during registration periods and voting has been an old truck and stock in trade of the NDC”, he alleged

In reaction, Mr Dan Abodakpi is of the view that the NPP neglected the Volta Region and attempts to show support for the region is a mere political agenda.

“2020 is not about showing fake love to the EWES but it’s about records,so those crying for the EWES now, how many of the EWES are on the top leadership of their parties?
NO MORE FAKE LOVE”, he exclaimed.

He further advised the people of Volta Region not to be deceived by the NPP’s gimmicks.

“This is an insult to the EWE communities. I want to advise my fellow VOLTARIANS that they should check and ask themselves have any military officer refused them from registering for their voter’s ID card? We can’t go on with this needless tribal politics”, he stated.

  1. What is shameless Dan Abodakpi and the NDC saying? You and your ilk exploited the Volta Region for 30 years. And all the legacy you left for the show of loyalty of the people is sharing of poverty and poor development. This assertion is confirmed by segments of the people claiming independence status as Western Togoland. Some politicians really enjoy the peoples poverty because it helps control them. And this is Abodakpi and the NDC show of love? Shameless exploiters.

  2. It’s good that the our brothers in the Volta
region are coming to the realization that the “today’s NDC”, especially with John Mahama as the leader cannot help them
