The Police have arrested Sherina Mohammed, the soothsayer who allegedly masterminded the lynching of 90-year-old, Akua Denteh, in Kafaba of the Savannah Region.

According to a Facebook post by the Ghana Police Service, the suspect was picked up from her hideout on Monday night at Yeji in the Ahafo Region.

“Sherina Mohammed alias Alhajia, aged 40 and being the sorcerer who masterminded the lynching of 90-year-old Madam Akua Denteh, at Kafaba has been arrested at her hide-out at Yeji last night. She is in Police custody,” the Police posted on Facebook.

On July 23, Akua Denteh was lynched after she was accused of being a witch by the traditional priestess contracted to cleanse the community.

The arrest of Sherina Mohammed brings the total arrest made in connection to the case to seven, they include five men and two women.

The Chief of Kafaba, five persons suspected to have invited and accommodated the priestess, as well as one woman seen torturing the deceased in the viral video have all been arrested
