Twelve people have died after a Thai soldier shot at them in the northeastern part of the country, ABC News can report.
The soldier, identified as Jakrapanth Thomma, by government officials, is said to be on the run after the incident.
Authorities confirm that the incident took place at about 3 pm local time and had earlier written on Facebook, “Death is inevitable for everyone”.
Kissana Phathanacharoen, spokesperson of the Thai police is reported to have told media that the suspect uploaded a picture of what looked like him holding a gun earlier in the day.
The official also mentioned that the suspect started firing, then drove past a school towards a shopping centre resulting in the death of the 12.
