The Ashanti Regional Police Command has assured they will do everything within their means to secure justice for the late community health nurse, Ruth Ama Eshun.
The comment by the Police comes after a second person was arrested in connection with the death which occurred about a fortnight ago, at Sawua in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region.
In a statement on Monday, the Police says the suspect Kofi Gariba, a 37-year-old mason apprentice is currently in police custody assisting in investigations.
“The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested two persons and has questioned several others in connection with the murder of Ms Ruth Ama Eshun, A community Health Nurse at Sewua-Ayuom in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region. On Thursday, 13th February 2020 Police acting on information arrested suspect Kofi Gariba alias Amanya Atiuwenti, 37 years, a mason apprentice to assist in investigation into the death of Ruth Ama Eshun. He is also in custody helping Police in the investigation and will be put before the court.
“The Command assures the bereaved family and the general public that it will do everything possible within the laws of our land to get the perpetrators to face the full rigours of the law,” a statement on Monday indicated.
The Police appealed to the public to volunteer any available information or leads they may have to help unravel the mystery.
The deceased, Ruth Ama Eshun was buried on Saturday, 15th February 2020, at her Ayuom residence in the Ashanti Region.
Hundreds of sympathizers thronged into the family residence to mourn with the husband and three children who are calling for swift investigations into the matter.
