A personnel of a Security Company at Agona Swedru in the Central Region has been declared wanted by the police for the alleged murder of a 69-year-old man.

The suspect has been identified as Abraham Adakyi and the deceased is Mr. John Kwame Akpanu.

The alleged killing is said to have happened on Thursday, July 16, 2020.

According to the Swedru District Police Commander, Superintendent Seth P. Yirenkyi, the suspect was on duty at the Agona Swedru branch of the Agricultural Development Bank (ADB) on the day the incident happened.

In a media engagement, Superintendent Yirenkyi disclosed that the suspect had a scuffle with the deceased at about 23 hours the fateful Thursday, but they were separated by a private security man who was also on duty at the bank.

Moments later, the private security man, who had left for his duty post, saw Adakyi stab the deceased in the abdomen three times.

John Kwame Akpanu was then rushed to the Swedru Municipal Government Hospital, where he was admitted at the Accident and Emergency Ward, but died later.

Superintendent Yirenkyi said the body of the 69-year-old man has since been deposited at the Swedru Municipal Morgue awaiting autopsy.

The public has been urged to offer relevant information to aid investigations.
