Ghanaian musicians, Sarkodie and Becca are expected to fly the flags of Ghana higher when they take the stage during a virtual concert being organised by the African Union (AU) to commemorate the day.
The Virtual Music Concert is to raise funds for Africa’s COVID-19 Response and is expected to start from 4 pm West African Time; 3 pm Central African Time, and 6 pm East African Time.
The concert is hosted by British-Congolese comedian, actor, and philanthropist; Eddie Kadi, Nigerian singer, and songwriter; Chidinma and Cameroonian television host and entrepreneur; Pamela Happi.
Other African artistes to perform live at the Africa Day 2020 #StrongerTogether Solidarity Concert include 2Baba and Rudeboy from Nigeria, Aminux from Morocco, Busiswa and Master KG from South Africa, Nikita Kering from Kenya, Hiro from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Toofan from Togo, Betty G from Ethiopia and Salatiel from Cameroun.
Others are Salif Keita (Mali); Nadya Shanab (Egypt); Kanvee Adams (Liberia), DJ Spinall (Nigeria); DJ Moh Green (Algeria); Awilo Longomba (DRC); Ahmed Soultan (Morocco); Pape Diouf (Senegal); Daphne (Cameroon); Liza James (Mozambique); and Naiboi (Kenya) among others.
The Africa Union Commission, (AUC) and the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) are organising the concert on the theme: Health Security in the Context of COVID-19.
