Embattled Ghanaian comic actor, Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, popularly known as Funny Face is in the grips of the Ghana Police Service for threatening some individuals in a viral video.
Funny Face, who also prides himself as “Children’s President” went berserk on social media on Sunday, raining insults on some renowned personalities in the countries.
The actor used unprintable words on the Managing Director of Despite Media Group, Fadda Dickson, footballer Emmanuel Adebayor and Bola Ray of EIB Network.
In the four minute video, he also threatened to kill his baby mama, Vanessa Nicole and commit suicide afterwards.
After the video went viral, the Ghana Police Service on Monday, 18th October, 2021 arrested Funny Face for the threats issued in the said video.
“The Police have today, Monday, 18th October, 2021, at 10:14 pm arrested Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng, popularly known as Funny Face for allegedly threatening certain individuals via some Social Media platforms,” portions of a police statement issued on Monday read.
The statement added that “due to the history of the suspect, the police shall submit Benson Nana Yaw Oduro Boateng to the court for an order for psychiatric examination, to determine the next line of investigative action.”
The police therefore assured the public that they are committed to protecting lives with the generous help of the public adding that they will not take anything for granted in the interest of public safety.
