Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS) is supplying 200,000 laptops and one million tablets to teachers and students in all private schools across the country, under a project dubbed “Schools and Classrooms Without Boundaries.
In addition to this, it is liaising with the appropriate service providers for uninterrupted internet supply to all private schools.
The project, which is a significant drive by the GNACOPS is to improve teaching and learning in private schools.
The way it will work is that, the one million tablets will be installed in classrooms for use by pupils and students, and each of those tablets will be connected to global educational platforms such as CISCO, Facebook and Google.
Executive Director of the GNACOPS, Enoch Kwasi Gyetuah, who launched the project at a workshop in Kumasi, said modern education demands the utilization of the global platform to help meet the rising standards.
“Due to the high cost of these important tools, a lot of people find it difficult to use them to their advantage, most especially, teachers and students,” he noted.
According to him, GNACOPS will also distribute brand new state-of-the-art core i7 laptops with routers to private schools’ teachers in the country for them to pay over 36 months.
