More than 6,000 delegates from across the 16 regions are expected to converge at the Trade Fair Centre in Accra today as the New Patriotic Party holds its National Annual Delegates Conference, ABC News can report.
The conference, which will feature the party’s constituency and regional executives, as well as national officers is on the theme: ‘We have performed better – 4 more to do more’.
The platform will allow for deliberations and resolutions and other matters of the party’s interest ahead of next year’s presidential and parliamentary elections.
A statement released by the party ahead of the conference urged Ghanaians to support the gains of the government because “we are on the right path.”
“The NPP has no doubt that we are on the right path. We are therefore urging you, the people, to also commit, support and defend the gains being made on all fronts; social, economic and political,” it said.
The conference commenced with Muslim Prayers on Friday, December 20, 2019 while on Saturday, the party worshiped with a congregation of the Seventh Day Adventists at Labone.
Sunday’s activities commenced with a Church service following which the party will continue with resolutions and reports till 2 pm.
The President, Nana Addo Danwkwa Akufo-Addo, including other stalwarts of the Party are expected to address the gathering at a rally to be staged at the forecourt of Trade Fair later in the day.
