The National Film Authority’s Action Group has called on government to ease restrictions on cinemas amidst Coronavirus

A member of the group, Cosby Bikpe stated that the film industry has been affected by the pandemic and allowing the cinema to operate will aid the revival of the film industry.

“The longer we keep the cinemas shut during these days of Coronavirus, the harder it makes growing the cinema culture more difficult,” he told Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz Show.

The Film Producer added that the cinema culture in the country was deteriorating even before the pandemic and prolonging the restrictions worsen’s the problem.

“It has been so hard for us to build up the cinema culture again in Ghana. We are trying to build that now”, he added.

He further appealed to government to reverse the restrictions on cinema operations in Ghana.
