They have therefore asked the public to disregard all allegations against the national executive have levelled against them and ignore any information about their dissolution.
“We hereby entreat all Ghanaians and the over 5,000 members of GUTA Greater-Accra to ignore all the unfounded allegations levelled against executives of the Greater-Accra GUTA,” a statement from the group said.
This was in response to a recent announcement by GUTA National Executive that they have dissolved the executive body of the Greater-Accra wing due to “serious breaches of the association’s code of ethics and lack of unity among the executives.”
The public, especially traders were therefore have been cautioned that anyone who deals with any of the old executives does so at his own risk.
But the Greater-Accra GUTA executive said in their statement that they do not answer to the national executive but the two bodies can collaborate on national issues.
“By this statement we are also disassociating the Greater-Accra GUTA from the so-called National GUTA – we believe the National GUTA executives do not have the traders at heart,” it said.
