As the dust begins to settle on the controversy surrounding the visit of American celebrity, Cardi B, to Ghana, details of a ‘Meet and Greet’ session which she was to have with some Ghanaian artistes have begun to emerge.
Many of the Ghanaian celebrities who were invited to the meet and greet session with Cardi B have expressed mixed reactions about how the event was organised, particularly, as they were made to wait for close to 9 hours to meet the American rapper.
Rebecca Tobi Daniels, known in showbiz as Becca, one of the Ghanaian celebrities who was present at the Kempinsky Hotel, where the event was to be held, has disclosed that not all celebrities who were present to meet the American rapper were invited to the show.
According to Becca, she received the invite for the meet and greet session the night before the programme and pleaded with the organisers to allow her to bring some fans of hers and a few friends.
Becca disclosed that most of the female musicians and social media personalities were invited by her and not the organisers of the programme.
“They called me the night before and said Becca we will like you and a few of your fans to do a one-on-one with Cardi B and then I suggested that I am not going to go to a Meet and greet with Cardi B alone, I will go with a few of my colleagues and friends to go with me. I hit some of my friends especially my colleagues in the music industry and one or two on-air personalities who are all females” she stated, ABC News can report..
“I didn’t invite Akuapem Poloo, no, I invited Moesha and Efia Odo, who are my little sisters that I personally love and take care of. I mean, they are my girls but I didn’t invite Akuapem Poloo” the ‘Hwe’ hitmaker divulged.
The others, who were invited by Becca, included Ghanaian female musicians, Wendy Shay, Eno Barony and Sister Derby.
She went on to state how she has come to build an interpersonal relationship with Cardi B and have frequent chats with her.
Cardi B, was in Ghana to perform at the Livespot X Festival, which was held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, December 8, 2019.
