The Ministry of Health has announced that it has opened applications for the recruitment of qualified nurses to the Republic of Barbados, ABC News can report.

This recruitment comes at the back of an agreement reached between Ghana and Barbados  following President Akufo-Addo’s state visit to Barbados in June this year. The government of Barbados, through the agreement, requested that Ghana expatriate some nurses to Barbados to consolidate the country’s healthcare system.

According a statement released by the Ministry of Health, nursing fields that are in critical need in Barbados are; Critical Care, Cardiac Catheterization, Emergency Room, Operating Theatre and Opthalmology. Most importantly, it indicated that interested  nurses must be registered and must have 3 to 5 years of working experience.
