Former President John Dramani Mahama has extended his best wishes to the newly elected Vice Presidential Candidate of the US Democrats party, Kamala Harris.

In a Twitter post, the NDC Flagbearer said her nomination is not just a win for women in terms of inclusivity but ‘represents a deserved recognition’ of her leadership qualities.

“Congratulations @KamalaHarris  on your historic nomination. More than inclusion, this represents a deserved recognition of your leadership qualities. An opportunity to achieve more for the American people & the world. Accept the best wishes of @NJOAgyemang@OfficialNDCGh & myself,” he tweeted.

The former President’s tweet come days after Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on Tuesday picked Sen. Kamala D. Harris as his running mate. The move has been celebrated globally as a historic achievement as it marks the first time a Black and an Asian American woman is running for vice president on a major-party ticket.
