President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has inspected work on some selected roads in the Ashanti Region to herald his tour of the Region, ABC News can report.
The inspection forms part of the President’s three-day working visit to the Ashanti Region which began today.
Among the roads inspected by the President Wednesday morning were the New Onwe Road,
Ejisu Roundabout and the Oforikrom-Anloga Junction Road, all of which are at various stages of completion.
The President was accompanied by a number of dignitaries including Mr Kwesi Amoako Atta, Minister of Roads and Highways, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Minister of Food and Agriculture, and Mr Bernard Antwi-
President Akufo-Addo will, this afternoon, pay a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfou Osei Tutu II at the Manhyia Palace after which he will continue with his tour of the Region.
The tour forms part of the President’s commitment to deepen grassroots participation in his government and to also obtain first-hand information from the people.
The President is also expected to use the occasion to apprise himself of critical developmental issues in the Region and communicate to the people plans undertaken by his government to resolve the issues confronting them.
The visit will also afford the President an opportunity to account for his stewardship to the voters who gave him the mandate to govern the country and also inspect ongoing projects in the Region.
