Happening now is the virtual Eid ul-Fitr celebrations to mark the end of Ramadan.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has joined Muslim leaders in the country to celebrate this year’s festival.

During Eid ul-Fitr, Muslims in the country gather at the Black Stars Square to pray. However, due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, this year’s celebration is being held at the studios of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) because of the restriction on public gathering.

For majority of Muslims in the country, it is the first time that they have gone through a period of fasting and ended without celebrating the Eid in the normal way.
