President Akufo-Addo is today presenting the 2020 State of the Nations Address (SONA), the last in his first four-year mandate as President of the Republic.
The State of the Nation is a constitutional arrangement which requires each President “at the beginning of each session of Parliament and before a dissolution of Parliament, deliver to Parliament a message on the state of the nation.”
The Address, the fourth since his assumption of power in January 7, 2017, is expected to cover, in broad terms, areas such as the economy, education, health, security, and infrastructure.
Expectations are high among Ghanaians ahead of the address as many look forward to hearing the government’s successes in the areas of agricultural, health, employment among others
