Final year students of the Kpandai Senior High School who fled campus after attacking policemen who went to the school to intervene in a misunderstanding between students and teachers are returning to the school.

The students on Wednesday evening caused a scuffle after a housemistress of the school seized some cell phones from a group of students.

The Kpandai District Police Commander, DSP Bernard Nugan, said six police officers deployed to the school to restore order, sustained various degrees of injury

He said the security personnel deployed to the school have since been withdrawn.

Military personnel from Bimbilla were subsequently deployed to the school as reinforcement, which led to many of the students fleeing the school.

The Kpandai District Chief Executive (DCE) together with some district security council (DISEC) members and the Northern Regional Director of Education have since visited the school.

The DCE, Emmanuel Attah Tatablata later visited radio stations to call the students to return to campus.

Meanwhile, according to the Headmaster of the school, Mugis Abubakari, some of the students have since returned to school but classes are yet to begin.

He gave assurance that a committee will be put in place to investigate the matter and apply all sanctions available.
