Kotoko skipper Emmanuel Gyamfi handed one-match ban and fined Gh¢1,000 by GFA

Asante Kotoko skipper Emmanuel Gyamfi has been banned and fined for misconduct in their Premier League game against Inter Allies by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).

He was charged for a breach of Article 34(6)(d) of the GFA Premier League
Regulations, 2019.

During the match between Inter Allies and Kotoko at the Theatre of Dreams, the 26-year-old stamped Inter Allies’ Andy Okpe in an off-ball situation around the 65th minute of the game, an action which in the opinion on the association is improper and likely to bring the game into disrepute.

According to the Disciplinary Committee of the GFA, Gyamfi pleaded guilty for the incident.

Below is the decision of the GFA Disciplinary Committee on Emmanuel Gyamfi:

  1. That Emmanuel Gyamfi is found guilty of the Charges.

2. A fine of GHc1,000 is hereby imposed on Emmanuel Gyamfi in accordance with Article
6.1(c) of the GFA Disciplinary Code.

3. That Emmanuel Gyamfi is hereby handed a onematch ban in accordance with Article 12(b) of the GFA Disciplinary Code.

4. Emmanuel Gyamfi is warned that any future misconduct shall receive a more severe punishment.
