Canadian superstar, Justin Bieber, has disclosed that he has been diagnosed with Lyme disease.
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection caused by ticks characterised by symptoms including rashes, muscle pain, and tiredness.
The 25-year entertainer also revealed that he has contracted a chronic viral infection which is taking a toll on his life, dismissing rumours that he had a drug problem after he was seen appearing sick and covered with flecks.
In an Instagram post narrating his ordeal, the pop singer said “it’s been a rough couple years.”
Contrary to suggestions by people that he was “on meth”, Bieber averred that “they failed to realise I’ve been recently diagnosed with Lyme disease, not only that but had a serious case of chronic mono which affected my skin, brain function, energy, and overall health”.
The ‘Love Yourself’ singer advanced that he was responding to treatment and would bounce back soon, adding that a lot more would be revealed in an upcoming YouTube documentary series about his life.
“You can learn all that I’ve been battling and OVERCOMING!!” adding “I will be back and better than ever”.
Meanwhile wife of Justin Bieber, Hailey Bieber, has been defending her husband in a Twitter post cautioning the people “trying to downplay the severity of Lyme disease” to “please do your research.”
