President of the United States of America, Donald Trump is boasting about being the only President in the history of America who has done the most for the Black population in the country.
According to him, the only President who comes slightly close to his achievements is the 16th US President, Abraham Lincoln, stating, “and it’s not even close.”
His comments come in reaction to heated protests sparked in the US and other parts of the world following the murder of George Floyd, an African American man who pleaded for air as a white Minneapolis police officer pressed his knee against his neck for several minutes in a viral video.
Protesters have explained that their agitations goes beyond the death of Floyd to a demand for Blacks living in America to be treated fairly under the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter. Analysts around the world have described the protests as the most widespread civil unrest in the US since the assassination of Martin Luther King in 1968.
Donald Trump has however described the protesters as ‘anarchists’ and urged US governors and law enforcement officials to take a more forceful approach in responding to protests.
Early Monday, June 1, as the protest reached a boiling point, President Trump stood at the St. John’s Church in Washington and posed for a picture, holding a bible after he ordered the police and law enforcement to fire flash-bang explosions and tear gas to “dominate the streets” against protesters.
“In 3 1/2 years, I’ve done much more for our Black population than Joe Biden has done in 43 years. Actually, he set them back big time with his Crime Bill, which he doesn’t even remember.
“I’ve done more for Black Americans, in fact, than any President in U.S history, with the possible exception of another Republican President, the late, great, Abraham Lincoln…and it’s not even close. The Democrats know this, and so does the Fake News, but they refuse to write or say it because they are inherently corrupt!” he wrote on Facebook.
