The National Women’s Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Dr. Louisa Hannah Bissiw has disclosed that throughout the 2020 electioneering campaign, her party only gave her Gh¢4,000 for campaign mobilization of women to vote for John Mahama.
Dr. Bissiw said in addition to the Gh¢4,000 the NDC National Treasurer gave her, she was given also only 30 t-shirts for the campaign.
“I did not get what I needed to work. The truth is one, I was given GHC4,000 and 30 t-shirts as National Women’s Organizer. I couldn’t use it for anything,” she said in an interview on Power FM.
Dr. Hannah Bissiw lamented that GHC4,000 and 30 t-shirt could not have enable her to run the huge campaign she ran in parts of the country for the party.
“All the activities I engaged in that grabbed attention of the public could not have come from that meagre Ghc4,000” she said, adding the training program she organized for Tamale women alone cost Ghc100,000.
According to her, whatever work people saw her do all over the place, which made people say that she was very visible, was from her own resources and not funded by the party.
