Veteran Ghanaian actor, Kofi Adjorlolo, has said he is hungry because producers have failed to pay money owed him, ABC News can report.

Mr. Adjorlolo said about 7 producers in the movie industry owe him various sums of money but has refused to pay him, a situation that has adversely affected his livelihood.

Mr. Adjorlolo lamented that a lot of veterans are sick and do not have money to cater for their treatment yet producers who owe them money have failed to either pay them back for roles they played or support them foot the bills of their medication.

”Old man like me they call for me to come and work and they can’t pay me. About 7 producers in this country owe me and I am sitting at home hungry. When I am sick too they don’t care about me. We have elderly people sick over there and producers owe them money,” he opined.

He disclosed that the situation is pathetic for youngsters in the industry because they are paid nothing at all as producers take advantage of their zeal to succeed.

”All the big producers in Ghana some of them owe me. The actors in Ghana know what I am talking about. Producers don’t pay. As for the young actors, they don’t even pay them but because of the passion they have for acting, they come and do the work and they don’t pay them. On the internet, I read I am worth 800,000 dollars me?” he quizzed in an interview with Joy News journalist.
