Member of Parliament for Assin Central in the Central Region, Kennedy Agyapong has revealed an alleged sinister plot hatched by some members of the NDC to kill certain key members of the governing NPP ahead of the 2020 general elections.

According to Mr. Agyapong, the objective of the perpetrators of the plot is to create insecurity in the country and make the governing NPP unpopular ahead of the elections.

Speaking on Accra-based Net 2, the maverick legislator revealed that a former Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports, Joseph Yammin is the mastermind behind the plot including a host of others.

He added that other persons alleged to be related to the plot are Huudu Yahaya, Faisal Mohammed of ‘Man Ghana’ fame, Yaw Barima, Charles Amaning, and others.

Breaking down the details of the alleged plot, Kennedy Agyapong revealed that himself, the majority leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the Bono Regional chairman of the NPP, Kwame Baffoe Abronye and other figures in the NPP have been pencilled to be assassinated by the “Yammin led” group through various forms.

He further alleged that some ambassadors and diplomats have been targeted by the group to be murdered and alleged that some offices of the Electoral Commission will be burnt down to create a sense of insecurity in the country.

Calling the bluff of the alleged sinister plan, Kennedy Agyapong announced that Joseph Yammin has been put under strict surveillance and therefore warned him to be wary of his actions since he is being monitored at all times.

He, therefore, called on the National Security to pick up the matter and launch investigations to ascertain the veracity of the plot.

“We are monitoring you 24/7. If you like, you can go to hell. You claim you are tough. Why are you backtracking? King George and others are pretending. I want Hon. Kyei Mensah to know that King George is pretending. He was part of the meeting and he knows what they were going to do. He and Man Ghana will invite him, and then they will kill Kyei Mensah,” he revealed.
