Media organisations and entities within the creative arts industry are due to benefit from a business support programme instituted by government to help them cope with the impact of Coronavirus.

According to the Finance Minister GHC30 million of the total amount will be dedicated to the media and creative arts industry.

The business support programme comes under the Coronavirus Alleviation Programme (CAP) Business Support Scheme (CAPBuSS) instituted to cushion businesses in this time of COVID-19.

The CAPBuSS was set up with an initial fund of GHC600 but the Finance Minister at the Mid Year Budget Review noted that an additional GHC100 will be added to the fund with GHC30 million donated to media and creative arts industry.

“It takes a caring government to hear the distress of business and respond with support to small and medium businesses to the tune of GHȼ600 million in order to help them survive and thrive in these uncertain times. The CAPBuSS will be increased by GHȼ100 million to help many more MSMEs, including GHȼ30 million for the creative arts industry
and the media,” he announced.
