Some Ghanaians have commended President Akufo-Addo for making the country attractive to foreigners following arrival of award-winning Chinese actor, Jet Li, Chinese business magnate and founder of “The Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Group”, Jack Ma as well as a former Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-Moon in the country on Friday, ABC News can report.
The three, who are in Ghana for the Africa Netpreneurship Summit, on arrival, paid courtesy call on the President at Jubilee House.
The program, which is the maiden edition, will be held at the Accra International Conference, on Saturday, November 16, 2019.
Following the news of their arrival many Ghanaians have resorted to their social media handles to heap praises on the Akufo-Addo administration for creating a conducive environment to attract such dignitaries.
Government, since the beginning of the year, has been running a massive marketing campaign targeting African Americans in the diaspora to come back to their roots as part of the Year of Return initiative.
This has also brought many high-profiled dignitaries into the country.
Prominent figures such as American comedian and television host Steve Harvey, actors Samuel Jackson and Danny Glover, basketball player, Angel McCoughtry and English model and actress Naomi Elaine Campbell have visited Ghana as part of the ‘Year of Return’ which has received worldwide acclamation and support.
