Football is back for many fans of the sports as UEFA Champions League returns with a bang. Ghana will strongly be represented as Thomas Partey, Kwadwo Asamoah, Joseph Paintsil, Majeed Ashimeru and Richmond Boakye battle for their respective clubs this football season.

The 2019-20 Champions League campaign started this week, with 32 teams competing for glory. Liverpool are the current reigning champions having beaten Tottenham 2-0 in last season’s final in Madrid.

Below are Ghanaian players you should expect in this season’s UEFA Champions League

  1. Thomas Partey

26 year old Thomas Partey plays for Alletico madrid who happens to be in Group D with Bayer Leverkusen, Juventus, Lokomotiv.

  1. Kwadwo Asamoah

 

Kwadwo Asamoah plays for Inter Milan placed in Group F with Slavia Prague, Barcelona and Dortmund

 

  1. Joseph Paintsil

. The 21-year-old was an instrumental force who helped Genk qualify for the UCL this season.

  1. Majeed Ashimeru

Majeed Ashimeru plays for Red Bull. His club will lock horns with Liverpool, Genk and Napoli in Groupe E.

  1. Richmond Boakye

The 26 year old Ghanaian forward plays for Crvena Zvezda in the Serbian League. he has scored 3 goals in 8 games in the UCL qualification play-offs. His team, Crvena Zvezda takes on Bayern Munich Wednesday night.
