History has been made as the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) has for the first time appointed a black female on its board.

Founder and former Chief Executive of West Blue Consulting, Valentina Mintah, has been elected as an Executive Member of the organization.

Valentina who was a senior solutions specialist at Crown Agents in the United Kingdom will now be responsible for developing and implementing ICC’s strategy, policy and programme of action.

She will also oversee the financial affairs of the International Chamber of Commerce.

Valentina Mintah, a highly accomplished Ghanaian lady, is the second African on the team.

She is serving along with colleagues who hail from Qatar, Italy, Japan, China, Indonesia, Kenya, and Spain.

The seven-member Executive Board was announced at the 2020 meeting of the ICC World Council.

The meeting also elected MasterCard Chief Executive, Ajay Banga, as ICC Chairman and confirmed Maria Fernanda Garza, Chief Executive of Orestia as ICC First Vice-Chair.
