The report of the three-member ministerial committee tasked to investigate circumstances leading to the disturbances at Ejura in the Ashanti Region has been published by the Akufo-Addo led government.
The committee is among others, recommending that adequate compensation packages been made available to families of the deceased and the injured.
Also, the Ejura Police Commander has been cited for gross incompetence over his handling of the riot amid recommendations by the Committee for his immediate transfer from the area.
The Ejura committee was set up following the killing of two persons during a protest against the killing of a social media activist, Ibrahim Muhammed, popularly known as Kaaka Macho.
After months of public hearings in which key stakeholders from the political class, media, police and military personnel as well as civilians were interviewed, the Committee is recommending the removal of the MCE for the area, who had already pulled out of the race for a new MCE.
The committee also adds that the death of Kaaka, served as the catalyst that triggered the disturbances.
