The Electoral Commission (EC) has launched investigations into the alleged registration of Ivorian nationals in the ongoing voters’ registration exercise at Banda Kabrono in the Bono Region.

In a statement, the EC emphasized it commitment to compiling a credible voters’ register, adding that it will not shield any staff found culpable in the act.

“As a commission determined to compile a register which reflects eligible Ghanaians only… the Commission has launched a full scale investigation into the matter and will not shield any staff found involved”, the Commission stated

The EC added that it will employ all available legal means to erase foreigners from the register.

The Commission further “entreats all well-meaning Ghanaians to report illegal and unauthorized activities of any EC official to the Commission and the Security Agencies”.
