Dreams FC forward Abdul Fatawu confident Milovan Rajevac can end Ghana’s long wait for AFCON title

Dreams FC forward, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku believes Black Stars coach Milovan Rejavac has enough quality personnel at his disposal to end the nation’s long wait for an Africa Cup of Nations title.

The four-time African champions have not won the coveted trophy since beating Libya to win the 1982 tournament.

Ghana have been drawn alongside Morocco, Gabon, and Comoros in Group C and will open their campaign with a game against the Atlas Lions of Morocco on January 10 before playing the Panthers of Gabon and the Coelacanths of Comoros on January 14 and 18 respectively.

“Ghana has always got quality players but I trust in the current team. Everyone in the team is ready to win the African Cup so I think everyone will give out his all to take the cup,” the 17-year-old, who led the Black Satellites to win gold at the U20 AFCON in March, and has scored six goals in six appearances for Dreams FC in the Ghana Premier League so far this season, said, as reported by Sportsworldghana.

“Actually, the target is to win the cup because at the U20 level that was the target and we achieved it.

“But I think with the senior side, they [Black Stars] have everything that can help Ghana to win the trophy and I have the confidence that we can win the trophy.”
