George Darko, popularly known in the entertainment circles as Dee J has officially made known his decision to rebrand himself as Jorge, ABC News can report.
The young Ghanaian entertainer and recording artiste announced this decision on Monday in an interview with GNA Entertainment. Jorge indicated that this new brand name is to enable him to carve a special identity for himself and also in the entertainment fraternity. He contended that the move represents the future of his music career as far as uniqueness is concerned.
With this rebranding, the former D Jee joins the list of the young and talented artiste in Ghana’s music industry.
He noted that, “the sudden name change was prompted by my decision to be associated more with who I am as a person. I got Dee J from my real name but I have had people thinking I am a “DJ” (Disc Jockey) whenever I mention my stage name, so this is to avoid any controversies in the near future.”
Jorge revealed that, as part of the rebranding exercise, he is going to release a number of freestyle videos on all his social media platforms @jorge_therapper. He claimed that this action will not only help launch his new brand but will help push him into the limelight.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to the campaign against skin bleaching. He also, therefore, used the opportunity to canvass public support for the campaign.
Jorge averred that despite the efforts by the Food and Drugs Authority, Ministry of Health and other related agencies, the situation persists. Various market places are flooded with these products hence the need for a conscious effort to launch such as campaign.
