As the world commemorates the 2021 edition of the Customer Service Week, the management of the Ghana Commodity Exchange, GCX has joined to global community to appreciate the effort of the various stakeholders of the exchange platform.
According to the management of commodity trading platform, GCX wouldn’t have come this far had it not been the overarching effort of all the numerous stakeholders.
Speaking in an address sighted by ABC News, the Chief Executive Officer of GCX, Mrs Tucci Goka Ivowi expressed the company’s appreciation to stakeholders such as the buyers, sellers, farmers, financial partners, processors, manufacturers among others.
“There are so many stakeholders across the eco-system. From our members, who consist of buyers and sellers. Here we have farmers, traders. We have processors and manufacturers and so many different types of members,” the Chief Executive Officer of GCX stressed.
She continued that, “we just say during this customer service week, how grateful we are to all of you who have worked with us in one way or another; some who bring the ideas, some who patronize the business directly and some who have partnered with us to move the Ghana Commodity Exchange forward, we say thank you. We appreciate you.”
GCX is a marketplace or a platform for buying and selling listed commodities which started with spot contracts for physical products.
It is a private company limited by shares, structured as a Public Private Partnership, with the government of Ghana currently the sole shareholder. The aim of the exchange is to establish linkages between agricultural and commodity producers and buyers, to secure competitive prices for their products, assuring the market quantity and quality as well as timely settlement of their trade.
The platform, currently trades in maize, soya bean, sesame, sorghum and milled rice.
