IMANI Africa President, Franklin Cudjoe has described the leadership of Ghana Cocoa Board under the current leadership as the most accountable and transparent he’s come engaged.
According to Mr Cudjoe, under no COCOBOD leadership has he seen as much transparency, availability of records as well as he has seen under the leadership of Joseph Boahen Aidoo, the Board’s CEO.
In a Twitter post on Saturday, Franklin Cudjoe said while IMANI was conducting a research into the country’s cocoa value chain, the CEO of COCOBOD, his three Deputies as well as other members of the board provided them with extensive financial record of the institution between 2010 to 2019 and other assistance.

Franklin Cudjoe who was full of praise for the COCOBOD CEO and his team urged them to remain focused despite the uncertainties and impact presented by COVID-19 on the cocoa sector.
He urged other public institutions to learn from Mr Boahen Aidoo.
“Hon. Joseph Boahen Aidoo, CEO of COCOBOD, your three capable deputies, heads of research and finance, administrative support staff and the ever resourceful Fiifi Boafo, PA to CEO of COCOBOD, Thank you for your dedication to excellence. Your level of transparency, your decision to avail to IMANI your financial records from 2010 to 2019 to aid our cocoa value chain analysis and the determination of the producer price and COCOBOD’s profitability are unmatched in my 16 years of research and public advocacy.
“Many local and international readers of our cocoa report wondered how we managed to receive this level of cooperation. I told them- COCOBOD is managed by persons who know what they are doing and think about the country. Corona may dampen your spirits, but stay focused. We shall work together again for the greater good of Ghana. May other public institutions who feed on your hard work but remain stubborn to be prudent in using public resources learn from you. Good morning.”
