Vice President of South Sudan, Riek Machar together with his wife, Angelina Teny have both tested positive for the Novel Coronavirus, a statement from the government office has revealed.

The statement released on Monday, May 18 further said that a number of his “office staff and bodyguards,” have also tested positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Sudanese Vice President Machar has issued a statement confirming he had tested positive and would be in self-quarantine in his residency for two weeks, together with his wife and the rest of his staff that has test positive.

It is unclear how the second gentleman of Sudan contracted the virus.
