Acting General Secretary of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), James Kwabena Bomfeh Jnr, popularly known as Kabila, has described as dirty politics the attempts by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to demean efforts of government in the wake of the pandemic.
Speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo show, Kabila admonished the NDC members to stop discrediting government’s interventions put in place to combat the virus and cushion Ghanaians to mitigate the impact.
Charging on the NDC to rally behind the President in finding lasting solutions to resolve the pandemic, Kabila said their act of discrediting the ruling government’s policies and efforts will not inure to the benefit and growth of the country.
According to him, it is a dangerous political trend by the opposition and called on them to stop the dirty politics.
”Equally dangerous and more serious was the attempt by some opposition elements to discredit everything government was doing. I was amazed…worse is or worse was and it continues to date the attempt that everything government was doing had to be discredited. I didn’t understand why but of course, I saw it was the usual NDC/NPP dirty politics that have associated our fourth Republican politics…it won’t augur well going forward”, Kabila stated.
He also condemned NPP’s premature self-praise saying “self-praise in early days was wrong…The early attempts to self-praise government’s interventions that were not based on reliable data were totally wrong.”
