Confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in Ghana have risen to 6,617, according to the Ghana Health Service.

The rise in the number follows an additional 131 new COVID-19 cases recorded as of Saturday, May 23, 2020.

COVID-19: Loss of taste and smell added to list of symptoms

The update also indicates that 27 more people have recovered from the disease in the country.

89 of the new cases were detected through routine surveillance while 42 was as a result of gha ongoing enhanced contract tracing exercise.

According to the Ghana Health Service, the new cases were recorded in the Greater Accra,(81 cases) Ashanti, (22 cases) Central,(10) cases Western, (13 cases) Volta (1 case) and Western north (4 cases).
