The five suspected COVID-19 casualties we reported early on have now confirmed.
This means the country’s total number of deaths as a result of the globally dreaded disease is now 16.
The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Kuma Aboagye earlier at a news conference in Accra hinted of the new deaths saying health authorities were in the process of confirming them.
Additionally, he indicated six more patients receiving treatment are in critical condition.
Dr. Aboagye, however, noted that an overwhelming majority of the patients are recovering.
So far Ghana has recorded 1,671 cases of the global pandemic.
