President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has confirmed that Ghana’s Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman Manu has indeed tested positive for COVID-19.

The 64-year old Minister is however not in a critical condition and is recovering rather steadily.

Mr. Agyeman-Manu had earlier denied media reports suggesting he had contracted the virus insisting he was on admission at the University of Ghana Medical center only because he needed some rest due to work stress and an increase in his sugar levels, according to a post by popular journalist, Afia Pokuaa.

But the President in an address to the nation on Sunday, June 14 confirmed the media reports and wished the Health Minister a speedy recovery.

COVID-19 case count now 11,118
