Vociferous and controversial marriage counselor, Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt, popularly known as Counselor Lutterodt has apologized for his comment, which suggested that rape victims usually enjoy the act.

“I sincerely apologize to all my followers, all rape victims, rapists and any other person whose sensibilities has been hurt by the one minute video they watched,” Counselor Lutterodt said.

The controversial counselor has come under heavy criticism from a section of Ghanaians on social media with some initiating to petition to get him off the media space.

Some of the people who commented on the issue were Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah and Gender Minister Cynthia Morrison who described it as insane and called for a media ban on the counselor.

However, appearing on Peace FM Saturday, July 11, 2020, Counselor Lutterodt rendered an unqualified apology to all who have been offended by his comment.

He however explained that the one minute video they watched, was lifted out of context, because the full video would show that he was only narrating real event of a rape victim who kept going back to the rapist for sex because she said she enjoyed it better than what she had with her husband of 10 years.

Counselor Lutterodt said the public did not give him fair hearing but he does not hold it against any of the people who called for his ban because they were misled by a one minute edited version of the whole show on Adom TV.

He said on that same show, he spoke vehemently against rape and recommended harsh punishment for rapist, but the event he narrated was picked out of context and used to castigate him.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Gender and Social Protection has called on the media networks and the National Media Commission to ban him indefinitely.
