Social Media ‘celebrity’, Rosemond Alade Brown, known by many as Akuapem Poloo, has reportedly been invited by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service over an ‘offensive’ photo she posted on her social media handle.
The development follows a petition to the police by human rights NGO, Child Rights International (CRI) which considers the nature of the photo a “violation of the welfare principle of the Children’s ACT.”
Akuapem Poloo, in the viral picture which has since been deleted from her handle is seen completely naked squatting before her seven year old son on his birthday.
This, CRI says is an “abuse of the child’s rights to privacy and dignity”, hence, the decision to report her to the police.
Akupem Poloo, after making the post, has since been subjected to heavy criticisms, some, very harsh by social media users.
